This project explores the changing seasons of Rochester through a mixed-media painting divided into four seasonal sections — using unconventional materials like dried leaves, recycled objects, and textured surfaces to evoke not just the look but the physical sensation of each time of year. The painting is paired with a short performance video in which movement responds to each season, shifting from slower, heavier gestures in winter to lighter, more fluid motion in spring and summer. Together, the static artwork and embodied performance work in tandem to capture seasonal transition as something immersive and sensory rather than purely visual. The project ultimately argues that the passage of seasons is not only seen but deeply felt — in the body, in memory, and in our lived relationship with the environment around us.
