Growing up in a lake town, I didn’t fully appreciate the water until I moved away to a place without a body of water nearby. Once I moved back home, I realized that I only feel like I am truly home when a lake is nearby. On this retreat, I was captured by the beauty of Hewitt Pond and was able to immerse myself in the environment. Watching the birds fly by, hearing the bugs zoom around me, smelling the fresh pine, and feeling the ripples of the water, I was able to appreciate the land and all its inhabitants.
